Item Description
This is the larger of 2 versions produced by J. & E. Stevens from 1891 to 1906. This larger version is 6” in length whereas smaller is 4-7/8”. 5” tall. Very nicely detailed including raised “Oregon” name on each side. Black with nice gold and red accents. Choice, N. Mint example with trivial traces of paint wear. Bright and glossy appearance overall. As nice as these come. This battleship was in active service during the Spanish American War. It was ordered June 30th of 1890, laid down Nov. 19, 1891, launched Oct. 26, 1893 and commissioned July 15, 1896. Finally decommissioned Oct. 4, 1919 and sold for scrap in 1956. Superb replica of this historic battleship.
