Auction #201 - Part II
Item numbers 1409 through 3152 in auction 201
Item Description
4” tall beautiful figurine by the famous German company c. 1931. Underside has company mark and incised number “493.” This is the only figure in the series numbered in the 400’s rather than the 500’s or 600’s. This early figurine depicts Mickey with more slender body than other Rosenthals and also has pale gray shading to his body rather than being just stark black and white. He stands with hands on hips and behind him is a plant that his tail wraps around. All Rosenthal figurines are rare, particularly in the US as they were never distributed here. Rosenthals are considered to be the finest Mickey figurines ever produced. N. Mint. Hake Disney Guide value in N. Mint = $3500. This is only the second time in our 44 years we have offered this particular Rosenthal. From the Michael J. Stern Collection.
