Auction #201 - Part II
Item numbers 1409 through 3152 in auction 201
Item Description
1-11/16” tall and given its size, perhaps more a pendant than a charm. In either case, beautifully executed with white, black, red and blue enamels over gold with very detailed full figure of Popeye including a pipe in his mouth with smoke eminating from it. Top has a loop plus a movable ring. Details on the front of the piece are in relief and the back of the piece, rather than being perfectly smooth is like a sculptural mirror image of the front with small peaks and valleys. Bottom of reverse is inscribed “14k.” Maker is unknown but from the 1970s. See similar charms in the Disney section. Rare and Mint.
