All items are from the Warren Publishing Co. archives. First is 8.25x11” magazine titled “On The Scene Presents Super Heroes.” Issue #1 from Oct. 1966. Filled with great articles and bw photos relating to the Batman movie serials of the 1940s as well as the 1966 movie along with other TV shows and movies such as The Phantom, Superman, Flash Gordon, Captain America, Captain Marvel. Similar to Warren’s Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine but this title was a one-shot. Trace of margin wear/aging. Contents lightly aged but clean. Fine. Lot also includes a total of 35 different glossy bw stills. One is for 1957 re-release of 1940s serial. All others are c. 1966 for TV show and/or movie starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Five are 8x10” with 20th Century Fox release info on bottom margin, one is 8x10” without margin info. All others are 7x9” and with no margin info. A few do have notations on reverse but none of the images in this lot were actually used in the Super Heroes magazine. Great images including production scenes, candid shots, etc. mostly of Batman and Robin but others include Penguin, Joker, Riddler and others. All have trace of margin wear/aging but lot remains VF to Exc. Final item is manila envelope for inner office use with notations on outside “Batman-TV & Movie Pix/More To Come/Pix-Jim Warren.” Dust soiling and wear. VG. Extensive lot. Additional photos online.
