Item Description
This very rare card with accompanying badge came boxed with the metal Dick Tracy Tommy gun replica in the late 1940s. The badge was used for several other purposes and reads “Dick Tracy Detective Club.” It is 1.5” tall with just a few lt. marks on the luster. The rare part of this group is the 2-13/16x4-5/16” stiff card titled at top “Official Membership Card/Dick Tracy/Detective Club.” There are unused blanks for the member’s signature, photo and thumbprint. Primary text reads “This Card Certifies That (print name here) Is An Official Member Of The Dick Tracy Detective Club And The Registered Owner Of A Dick Tracy Tommy Gun. He Is To Be Accorded Full Courtesies And Privileges By Fellow Club Members. Dick Tracy Detective Club By (facsimile signature) Secret Agent X28 President.” Card has scattered dust soil and creases along with a double set of holes where the pin has been fastened at 2 different locations. Only example we can recall offering of this card.
