Item Description
This brass ring with adjustable bands has very high relief leopard head on the top with surrounding text top and bottom “Frank Buck’s Jungleland” while at the left and right are the small designations “NY” and “WF.” This is only our 4th example seen in over 4 decades. All examples had this same rather muted brass tone as opposed to gold flashing seen on some premium rings. This is a beautiful essentially Mint example with perfectly circular bands that have never been expanded larger than as issued. With the ring comes a vintage 1939 ring box covered in very dark green material while interior has cream-colored cloth liner on the top and the insert which is slotted to hold the ring is in a deep emerald green velvet. While the ring most likely did not come in this box, the 2 have kept each other company probably since 1939. Values in Hake’s Pop Culture Guide are $1600-Fine and $2750-N. Mint. This is a Mint example. Very conservative opening -
