Item Description
Painted and glazed ceramic with 7.75” dia. base with height of 9.5”. Full figure Dumbo on top of lid is 3.75” tall. Base is designed like a circus performing platform with raised stars. These stars once had red over-the-glaze paint although this is now totally missing. Some of the red over-the-glaze paint accent of Dumbo’s collar remains. Normal and typical lt. trace of crazing really only visible upon close inspection and primarily to base. Top rim edge of base has one tiny glaze nick. Overall appearance remains totally bright and glossy. VF. Among the rarest Disney cookie jars and the only example we’ve offered in our 44 years. Pictured in Disneyana Collectors Guide To California Pottery by Frick & Hodge but because of its rarity, it is listed without a value. From the Bruce Cervon Collection.
