Portraits were issued in packs of gum, a complete set could also be obtained by sending in 100 wrappers and 25¢. All have been mounted at appropriate spots with short biography information below portraits. Album is divided into sections such as “President Jefferson Davis And Members Of His Cabinet, Commander-In-Chief And Generals, Major-Generals, Brigadier-Generals,” etc. Inside front cover had information about this series but this has two paste-over pictures relating to the Civil War including one which was issued by American Chicle evidenced by printing on reverse which can be read as it is not fully mounted and can be lifted slightly to view bottom margin text. Pages remain intact but have come loose from the hard cover. Cover itself has trace of dust soiling, Fine. Pages have aging and Fine. Portraits remain clean and Exc. as mounted. A rare album and the only example we’ve offered in our 44 years.
