Item Description
This unique figure was probably created shortly after August 9, 1936 after Jeep left his 4th dimensional world to join Popeye and us in our three-dimensional world. The figure was made by a fan of Jeep who possessed metal working skills. The figure stands 4" tall and is solid brass nearly 3/8" thick. The figure is nearly identical on each side, except on one side both of his hands show, while from the other side only one hand shows. Jeep in mounted on a steel base 1.25" wide by 3.5" long by 5/16" thick by a pair of machine screws on the underside. Small traces of original green paint are on the base which o/w has a dark metallic finish. Jeeps features are in gently rounded relief details including his elongated nose, neck bow and numerous tiny indents in the metal to represent the purple spots on his body. Recessed crevices have trivial traces of brown tarnish. Entire piece has nicely aged patina but no damage. A very charming representation of Popeye's orchid-eating, truth-telling pet who can see the future.
