Item Description
6x17.75" with sheet of old scrapbook paper covering 3/4 of blank reverse. The first six lines read "Ho! For Salt River./Through the exertions of the friends of Grant, the good old ship/Dead Crow,/(Copper bottomed,) is enabled once more to make her annual trip up/Salt River. The vessel will be officered by the following well known/OLD SALTS:/" Followed by satirical list of occupations and names of local politicians including two images of "chamber maids" with names of two men and two images of black men labeled as "Deck Sweepers." Tanned and numerous horizontal creases. We can't find any text or names to permit precise dating but with the name "Grant" in line two it is from 1868-1872 era. Rare and VG.
