Item Description
Three items in original packaging. 3 1/8x3 1/8" thin cardboard box with felt covered die-cut insert holds 2.5" medal with nice relief image of President Washington on front and image of "Washington Hall" exhibit building on reverse with text "New York World’s Fair 1939 Erected to Commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Inauguration of George Washington as First President of the U. S. by Messmore Kendall Pres-Gen S.A.R." (Sons of the American Revolution). Box has lt. wear around edges with splits at two corners of top lid. Fine. Medal is N. Mint as issued. Second item is 3.5x6" die-cut thin cardboard card with art image at left of Trylon and spaces at right holding six different coins. Each is done in various colored metals and has image of Trylon and Perisphere on front and exhibit buildings on back. Includes "Hall Of The Nations, Contemporary Arts, The Music Hall, Public Health, and Hall Of Communication." Original cellophane wrapper is still present although split. Wide strip of cellophane tape on reverse is original as issued but is a bit tanned with age. Card and coins are Exc. Third item is 3.75x8 5/8" "American Silk Label" folder with nice image of Trylon and Perisphere on front cover with planes flying overhead. Four page folder opens to reveal 2x6 7/8" bookmark with nice art image of Trylon and Perisphere with text at top "Visit the New York World’s Fair" with large 1939 date at bottom. Bookmark was most likely given out before fair opened due to text in folder. Folder has trace of lt. dust soil, with a few hairline color rubs on center front. Fine/VF. Bookmark still mounted in place as issued and N.Mint. All three items are high quality and nice for display.
