7.25x8-3/8". Glossy photo trimmed on left margin. Photo from 1949 but caption for use in 1950s story on Communist Party. Printed text on back with June 15 1950 date stamp reads "For use Sunday, June 11, with George W. Cornell's New York AP-N story on Communist Party/Convicted red leaders/Eleven top U.S. communists shown as they left Federal Courthouse in New York City, Oct. 14, 1949 after being convicted of conspiring to teach the overthrow of the U.S. Government by force. Left to right: Henry Winston; Eugene Dennis; Jacob Stachel; Benjamin Davis, Jr.; Gilbert Green; Gus Hall; John Williamson; Robert Thompson; Carl Winter; Irving Potash and John Gates." In 1972/76 Gus Hall ran for President of the US on the American Communist Party ticket. Minor gray line along reverse left edge. Scattered handling creases visible in reflective light. Fine.
