Item Description
Three items. Ornate brass plated cast iron frame is 7x8-3/8" nicely detailed with high relief iconic military images with American eagle at top with wings spread along with drum, rifle, anchor, sword, and furled flags at bottom. Has text on top "Manila Santiago" on ribbons held in eagle's beak. Back has brass pocket with metal easel. Pocket holds glass sheet covering tinted real photo of Dewey. Made by Ridgway and Co. Chicago. Photo is slightly faded. Brass plating is still 95% complete. VF. 5.5x7" cast bronze oval plaque has high relief image of Dewey near top with eagle and flags at bottom. Top edge has drilled hole for hanging as made. At some point two square nuts were soldered to back, most likely for some other form of mounting, possibly an easel. Doesn't affect front image which has aged to a nice patina and is VF. Cast metal plaque is 4x6" with high relief image of Dewey in center with his name incised at bottom. Reverse side has original wire easel. A few scratches, mostly around right collar. VF with nice dark finish. All three items are very well made with wonderful detail.
