Item Description
Three items. Includes large and small varieties of mid-1930s Rosebud Art Company pipe toss games. One is 4.25x9-1/8" boxed variety, the other is 5x10-7/8" variety. Each contains die-cut thin cardboard target figure of Popeye with wood block to stand on and three die-cut thin cardboard rings. One figure is 8.25" tall, the other is 10" tall. Smaller box has directions printed on inside of lid with wood block glued in place, the other has no instructions and wood block is loose. Lid on smaller game is worn around edges with split at left side panel. VG. Rings has small creases repaired with cellophane tape. VG. Larger set has scattered lt. wear around lid edges with split at top corner seam. Overall Fine with Exc. contents. Ring toss game comes in 10.5x16x1.5" deep cardboard box by Rosebud Art Company New York ©1919-1929-1933 King Features Syndicate Inc. Lid has wonderful graphics with smiling Popeye and Olive Oyl watching Swee' Pea throw rings at Popeye and Olive Oyl targets. Box bottom has illustrated instructions and has two at attached wooden blocks to hold 10.25" tall Olive Oyl figure and 10-1/8" tall Popeye figure. Complete with roped rings with wood attachment and wooden Popeye pipe which fits into Popeye's mouth as ring target. Lid has scattered color rubs around edges with split at bottom side panel and at lower left corner seam. Fine. Popeye figure has bit of wear around bottom edge and at hole in mouth, otherwise contents are VF/Exc. Nice group.
