©1948 King Features Syndicate Inc. 10-7/8x18x1" deep cardboard box has nice lid graphics by Popeye comic strip and comic book artist Bud Sagendorf showing Popeye, Olive Oyl, Wimpy and Swee' Pea playing actual game. Lid is lightly worn around edges and blank inside has pencil marks but top displays Fine. Game is complete with instructions. Includes six die-cut heavy cardboard figures with six wood blocks with slots for each to stand on. Figures range in size from 7x8" to 6.5x9.5". Each has large number at bottom. Includes Swee' Pea with racket, Popeye blowing bubbles, Swee' Pea fishing, Wimpy with 10¢ hamburgers, Olive Oyl gardening, and Popeye holding large can of spinach. Standee figures show wear at base attachment areas, Popeye with soap bubbles has heavy crease in bubble device and surface paper breaks. Displays Fine. Other figures are VF/Exc. Comes with wooden playing pieces and instruction sheet. Sheet is lightly creased across top, otherwise Fine. Box also contains small Parker Brothers game catalog which includes Monopoly. Nice set with great design and superb graphics.
