Item Description
3.5x8.25x.75" deep original mailing box contains extensive and nicely designed kit c. late 1930s or 1940s. Box shows wear, heavy crease on bottom side panel, all flaps from right and left side are missing. Good-. A 3x4.25" 16-page "Junior Detective Wallet-Manual" describes all of the items in the kit. This has plain black stiff paper cover while contents are bw. Attached on inside front cover is silver/black badge sticker. As designed, inside front cover has penciled address while last three pages are designed to be filled out w/clues. Booklet has minor staple rust at centerfold. Lt. cover creases but FN. The lie detector is 2.5x8" long diecut thick cardboard in bw/bright silver. This has instructions on back while front has design including switches and gauges plus diecut opening "Meter" window. This window is supposed to show a real indicator at zero mark but as item is held together by original staples, there are no moving parts and red indicator does not show. Lt. wear, trace of staple rust, 1.5" surface paper split along top edge but Fine. The fingerprint outfit consists of 12 small sheets of black paper that show some wear and creasing. An envelope of "Finger-Printing Powder." In included. The envelope has tanned and is still sealed with original powder. The handcuffs consist of a small diecut piece w/notches for placement of thumbs and diecut holes where string cord is inserted and tied. Lt. aging to cord but Exc. A 3" dia. one-sided bw secret code dial w/corresponding code instructions listed in the booklet. Dial is Exc. Final item is a 3” clear plastic magnifying glass and is Exc. A rare kit of which we have previously only had parts of it.
