Item Description
c.1950s. Three items. Includes pair of hinged boxes, each monogrammed “RH”. One is 1.25x1.25" and the other is 2.5" wide. Third item is 7.5" long letter opener. Square box has hairline crack on lid top, otherwise group is Exc. Comes with printed letter from Claire Gaynor stating she received them from Gordon Bau, famous makeup artist. Rita Hayworth (1918-1987) was an American film actress and dancer who gained great fame during the 1940s, notably as a sex symbol in the 1946 feature "Gilda". She appeared in 61 films over 37 years. In 1949 her lips were voted best in Hollywood by the Artists League of America and she had a modeling contract with Max Factor to promote makeup (see item #1892). Great for display or use.
