Item Description
Lot of two 5.75x8" telegrams, both addressed to "Olin D. Johnston, Whitney Road Spartenburg Socar." First is dated Oct. 12, 1960 and reads "Thank you for accompanying me on Monday's visit. I appreciate having the opportunity to talk to you in traveling through the state and want you to know I am most encouraged by your expressions of support. Sincerely John F. Kennedy." Second is dated Nov. 12, 1960 (four days after the election). Reads "You have my deep gratitude for the efforts made in my behalf during the long and arduous campaign. Your continued help and guidance in the challenging months ahead will be vital as we work toward achieving the many goals that command our attention. Sincerely, John F. Kennedy." Each has horizontal fold o/w VF.
