Item Description
3x4-5/8" stiff cardboard designed with small hole at top holding original pink hanging cord. Great color art with name of creator below "R.F. Outcault" (see Yellow Kid advertising sign by Outcault in our section devoted to larger-size comic character items). Buster's resolution is "That My New Leggings Are The Most Stylish Things Out" and a simulated poster on the wall shows illustrations of examples for boys and girl with the boy's version captioned "Buster" and the girl's version captioned "Buster's Sister." Tige sits below the sign looking at Buster's leggings and says in a cartoon balloon "A Peach." Back of the card shows logo emblem for "Buster Brown Legging" along with pair of full figure Buster and Tige stickpins with text above reading "Do You Belong To A Buster Brown Club? If Not, We Will Help You Start One/Free/To All Members Of Buster Brown Clubs We Will Give A Buster Brown Club Pin, Made Of A Special Gildine Metal On A Strong Stick Pin." Text below instructs sending a 2¢ to pay for packing and postage or six will be mailed "On Receipt Of Five 2¢ Stamps." Front of card has slight horizontal ripple just below Buster's waist and a couple of full length ripples crossing his ankles and Tige but this is as printed as the card is not actually creased. Reverse edge has only the slightest wear with a few pinpoint of surface paper missing. Overall condition remains Exc. and this is the only example we've seen. We don't ever recall seeing the pictured "gildine" metal pin.
