Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8" stiff paper card issued by various newspapers in May, 1931. The Floyd Gottfredson Mickey Mouse daily strip storyline from May, 1931 involved Mickey having his picture taken which was in turn offered as a premium to readers. The image that appears on this card is the exact same image that appears in the comic strip story including an example image of this exact same card that appeared in the May 27th strip. Superb image depicts Mickey posing for the photo while behind him in a suit of armor is Butch. Facsimile signatures below read "Gobs Of Good Wishes Mickey Mouse/Me Too Butch." Card exhibits just the very slightest aging. Clean and with sharp corners. Choice N. Mint condition, the nicest example of the very few we have been able to offer over our 45 years. Despite the overwhelming success of this premium offer, this card is extremely rare. For additional information and reprints of the storyline strips, see pages 23-25 of Disneyana by Munsey. From the Bruce Cervon Collection.
