Item Description
2.5x7x7.5" tall box, complete w/plastic insert, contains 5.5" long die cast metal and plastic replica. © 1968 King Features Syndicate. Box is nicely illustrated w/Sgt. Pepper's band on front flap while back pictures the Sub and other characters from the film. Display window is intact but has a .25" crack at front top. Front flap has a 2" corner crease at right top corner but box is still clean and near-Exc. Thin vacuform plastic "Sea" insert has scattered cracks and a .25x.75" piece missing where it touches front of Sub. These defects are not noticeable as boxed. Replica is nicely designed w/four periscopes that revolve as the toy is pushed along. Top has spring-operated hatches which open by pressing small levers on one side of the Sub. When these are open, tiny replica figures of Beatles are seen in the seats, two in front and two in back. Mounted on rear fin is a tiny propeller blade and body has a number of accent details. Tiniest traces of wear but Exc.
