Item Description
Italian company Lars produced Disney dolls from the 1950s into the 1970s. These are some of the earliest examples and from the 1950s. The earlier versions are mostly felt, later examples incorporated other materials. While these were licensed by Disney, they were not sold in the US, which results in their rarity. These Lars dolls are among the nicest Disney dolls ever produced. The Big Bad Wolf stands 23" tall while each Pig is about 12" tall. Stuffed dolls are primarily felt although Wolf's body has bushy plush covering. Great image of Wolf with open mouth revealing pointed teeth. Each Pig holds wood/metal objects which include fife, fiddle/bow and trowel. While Fiddler and Fifer dolls have happy expressions, Practical Pig has a serious look on his face. Dolls have lt. trace of dust soiling, slight trace of fade to felt, primarily to the fronts of the dolls. Set is VF. Very impressive in design and quality, especially the Big Bad Wolf, who towers over the Three Pigs. This set previously sold for $5,606.
