Item Description
These are the two different painted and glazed ceramic figurines produced by Brayton of Pluto along with the very elusive worm. c. 1940. One is 6" tall in pose of him looking upward, mouth open as if he is howling. The other is 6" long in pose w/head lowered to the ground and rear end raised into the air. The worm is the companion piece to this figurine and stands 1.25" tall in its coiled form. All three of these are pictured on page 19 of Disneyana Collectors Guide To California Pottery by Frick & Hodge. One of Pluto's claws has a tiny chip only noticeable upon close inspection. Otherwise all are Exc. This is the first worm we have offered in our 45 years and is among the rarest Disney related figurines. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tumbusch and Ted Hake.
