1-1/8" dia. silvered metal case. Beautiful celluloid dial featuring Mickey whose hands point at the numerals plus second hand disc with three tiny Mickey images. From 1933. This first version features an image of Mickey quite different from the second version dial (see item #2471). This early image was updated after a very brief period of time to a more traditional Mickey image. Comes with original thin brown leather straps which show wear and are VG. Back of case has .5x.75" spot of luster loss. Front of case has trace of luster wear around thin rim edges but most bright luster remains. Crystal has yellowed and comes loose but will stay in place for display. Dial has minor traces of wear but only noticeable upon close inspection. Dial remains bright and clean. Still displays VF and running. Only the third time we've offered this variety in our 45 years, the previous two examples sold for $2,875 and $3,220. A true rarity in the world of character timepieces.
