Item Description
This toy is rarely found boxed and the toy itself is a truly amazing example , the nicest we have ever seen. Box is 13x15.5x7.25" deep and contains exceptionally well made and designed toy which is 7.5x18x12" tall. © 1962 Hanna-Barbera Productions. The box lid is nicely illustrated on all sides including one panel showing the toy in action. One corner of lid has 2" split, another corner has 4" split. Scattered edge creases. On the top of the box along the right edge is 1/8" wide by 4" long thin strip of additional surface paper adhered to it although this could possibly be removed w/some effort and care. Box remains totally bright and very glossy w/vibrant color. Overall still about Fine. Dino has plush-covered body, head is vinyl. Attached to Dino's back is tin litho "pagoda" containing tin litho figure of Fred Flintstone who has vinyl head and fabric outfit. He holds string reins that attach to Dino's felt collar. The pagoda is held in place by simulated leather straps. Toy works and as described on the box, "When Dino Bumps Against Object, He Turns-His Tail Wiggles In Motion/Fred Rocks Back And Forth In His Pagoda/Dino's Mouth Opens And Closes With Whistling Sound-His Neck Moves Back And Forth/Dino's Neck Turns From Left To Right." This toy is normally found w/some degree of fading to the purple plush, however, this example retains its deep and intense purple color w/no signs of aging whatsoever. Only the very slightest aging shows on underneath rotating wheel of mechanism. A N. Mint example which even comes w/original cardboard packing tube that fits around Dino's head. As nice an example as you will ever find of one of the most classic and largest Marx battery operated toys.
