Item Description
1.25" real photo without dot pattern and without maker's name. Beautiful crisp photo of him with rim text "Good Luck Jimmy/Braddock Boosters." He had an amazing comeback from a down hill career which included several losses and then his struggle to support his family by working on the docks during the Great Depression. This earned him the nickname from Damon Runyon. This button is likely from the time he held the world heavyweight championship from 1935 to 1937. In reflected light button has two pinpoint rubs and 1/8" scratch on his hair but exceedingly trivial and rest of button is essentially Mint and displays Mint. Only example we've seen. Also see Al Smith boxing and baseball related buttons #284-283. Only example we've seen.
