Item Description
This beautifully constructed item is 1-1/8x1-5/8x1/8" thick. Front of the piece is designed as an envelope which includes image of landing of Columbus postage stamp plus a postmark which reads "New York NY/5/6 P.M./1893." There is an engraved address on the envelope front to a person in Utica N.Y. The back of the piece is also designed as a envelope and includes facsimile postal cancellation. The item is designed with a small pin in the upper left front corner and this allows the rear envelope flap to lift up giving access to the interior compartment for holding stamps. The inner surface of this lift up cover is inscribed "Sterling/Pat June 24 90." Very minor surface wear. Beautifully made and still in Exc. condition.
