Item Description
4x9x25" tall to the top of his hat. c. 1950. Doll is unmarked but is shown in vintage catalogues as by Ideal. Boots, hands and head w/painted features are rubber while body is stuffed fabric. Jacket overtop of body is cotton rayon, lower body is covered in heavy corduroy forming pants and ending at tops of the tall rubber boots. Doll has correct felt hat, scarf, white metal gun (rarely found unbroken), vinyl belt and holster, white metal "Hopalong Cassidy" pin on belt. This pin has a minor indentation and .25" long hairline crack along right rim edge. Hat is missing a yellow cardboard band that had his name in black, owner added two tiny brim cuts w/inserted white ribbon that helps hold the hat in place. This could be removed and small cuts would hardly show. Doll is missing a generic steer head tie slide and generic "Junior Sheriff" white metal badge. Head has two pinpoint black dots in the rubber on right side which barely show when viewed from the front. Rare and overall in exceptional, Exc. condition. Smaller 20" size turns up more often. This 25" size is scarce.
