First is a large (size 12) "Sterling" heavy ring finely detailed with large eagle on each side while top has the insignia used by service personnel about to leave the military with an Honorable Discharge. The top of this ring is in three stepped up levels and the lower level reads "E Pluribus Unum." The nickname came because military people thought the eagle looked more like a duck and because it meant they were going home the popular saying was, "They Took Off Like A Ruptured Duck." First we've seen in N. Mint. Second is brass luster ring although stamped on inner band "Sterling" with anchor design and "USN." General wear on the brass luster. Next is a very interesting ring showing profile of German soldier in uniform with helmet. German text is on the left and right bands. The first two letters of the inscription are almost totally worn off but enough remains to read the complete phrase as "Andenken An Die Westfront." This translates to Memento Of The Western Front. Stamped on interior band with apparent maker's name "M. Pacca." Missing a bit of silver luster at the bottom of the bands and with a hairline mark where the ring was sized to a size 10. Overall Fine and Rare. Last is a plastic ring base holding glossy real photo of General MacArthur. This style ring was sold off a card in stores c. 1948-1950. Mint.
