Item Description
In terms of color scheme and size this and the following item are the basic varieties. However, this 1.25" button is a rare variety because in addition to the primary text "What Did The Woggle Bug Say?" at the bottom is the information of the newspaper which gave the button away and this reads "Boston Sunday Herald." The button was used to promote Frank Baum's 1904 newspaper comic page titled "Queer Visitors From The Marvelous Land Of Oz." Typically this button has a Keystone Badge backpaper but on this example someone removed most of the paper so we do not know if it was the same maker or not. Button has a couple of light tan dots mostly on the left and bottom edges. Still about 96% clean and a rare variety.
