Auction #202 - Part II
Item numbers 1554 through 3213 in auction 202
Item Description
Henie won gold medals in three consecutive winter Olympics 1928, 1932 and 1936. She is credited with transforming the sport by introducing ballet moves. She turned professional after the 1936 Olympics performing in ice shows and making light comedy movies for 20th Century Fox. The first item here is a 1-5/8" litho reading "Junior Olympic Club Sonja Henie." This is probably c. 1936. There is a .5" hairline scratch on her hat which includes a design of the five Olympic rings. There is a tiny 1/16" scratch near the bottom but overall piece still displays Extremely Fine and is rare. Second is 1.75" from the 1940 years of her "Sonja Henie Ice Review." This has some small and light spots scattered around the extreme outer rim but not showing much. Scarce.
