CARTOON CHARACTERS 1930s COMPLETE SET OF 50 PLUS 24 VARIATIONS.
Item Description
This is the most extensive set of 1930's cartoon characters ever issued as buttons. Each is a 7/8" litho and most carry the name "Western Theater Premium Co" with either a Chicago or Los Angeles address although a few carry no name or address at all. These were issued in two distinctive sets one in black, white and red while the other is in the same coloration but with an added accent of yellow which can be obvious for example on Moon Mullins #41 or barely noticeable on the collar tips of Old Doc Yac #45. While the images of the characters are the same on each set the placement of the text varies between the two distinctive sets. The buttons are numbered 1 though 50 and generally each tells the character name plus the name of the artist or the name of the cartoon studio. The vast majority of the 74 are VF or better. There are 15 VG to Fine. We will list the fifty names. The letter "A" means the included example has a yellow accent. The letter "B" means no yellow. There are 24 buttons for which both varieties are present.
