Item Description
Most of these limited issue items are designed to be worn by salesclerks for promotions featuring a comic or TV character. The largest is a 2.75x6.75" Rudolph ribbon, the round buttons are 3" and the other items are to scale. These were collected by a Macy's employee between 1990-1998. Top to bottom and left to right: 1) "I'm The One Who 'Nose.' Ask Me! Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer Exclusively At Macy's." This has 1998 copyright. Very slight blur on the red letter "M" at ribbon top but rest is clean. 2) This is a small stiff paper booklet 2.5x3.5" titled "How The Cat In The Hat Came To Macy's & Jordan Marsh." Book has introductory page to a story done in eight pages of verse. The intro calls "The Cat In The Hat...Our 1995 Holiday Ambassador." In connection with this the store offered a plush doll in a limited edition for a special price with purchases above $35.00 and this is all detailed on the book's back cover. 3) Next comes the button to promote this premium also with 1995 date. 4) "It's Bullwinkle At Macy's" showing him rolled up in giant snowball with Rocky perched on top. This has 1996 copyright of Ward Prod. 5) "Macy's Has A Little Lamb" rectangular button with 1993 copyright of Shari Lewis. 6) Plastic badge with suspended ribbon with die-cut figure of Paddington and ribbon text "Please Look After This Bear/Thank You." This has 1990 copyright. 7) Snoopy and Woodstock die-cut plastic coated figural badge with Macy's name below and suspended ribbon "Do You Need A Best Friend?" White lettering is a bit faint but easily readable and the badge displays Mint. 8) Rectangular button with text "Have Yourself A Merry Little Kermit At Macy's!" This has Jim Henson copyright but no date. 9) Bugs Bunny on button reading "Things Are Hopping At Macy's." Pinpoint rub by letter "M" but rest displays Mint. This has 1990 Warner Bros. copyright. 10) "Babar At Macy's/The King Fit For A Gift." This has 1991 copyright of "Laurent De Brunhoff." The only Babar button we know of. 11) Die-cut laminated plastic over cardboard large badge showing dog as if wearing a ribbon with text "We Have A Gift For Hugging/The Little Mermaid/Disney/Max At Macy's." 12) "Get Goofy This Christmas/Ask Me How" button with Disney copyright. All items are essentially Mint with minor exceptions as noted. Rare pieces issued in very small numbers to employees only.
