Item Description
This button reads "I'm Going To Hear 'Roney's Boys' Are You?" Pictured is Henry Roney with five of his young musicians in flag motif outfits holding various instruments. He began training boy singers in 1888 and from his Chicago base conducted various touring concert groups around the turn of the century. The only other button for this group pictures them in outfits of a Scottish theme and that was issued with a W&H backpaper c. 1901. This has no backpaper and we estimate it to be probably a year or two later c. 1903. Far left at center has 1/8" slight cut in the cello surface and the outer perimeter has very minimal trace of a little gray age marking but nothing very dark and the piece still displays with full gloss and full color intensity. This design seems to be a little scarcer than the other.
