Item Description
2.25" litho with metal back and bar pin c. 1960's. Dyett began his career in 1931 as band director at Wendell Phillips High School. He is credited with training more than 20,000 musicians by the time he retired in 1961. A list of famous jazz musicians who passed through his program includes Gene Ammons, Johnny Board, Van Freeman (saxophonist), as well as trumpeters Sonny Cohn and Paul Serrano and singers Dinah Washington and Johnny Hartman. Button has about a half dozen very faint 1/8" scratches but showing little at all and overall condition remains Extremely Fine. Only example we've seen.
