Item Description
2" button with backpaper by St. Louis Button Co. issued for famous gossip columnist who for many years was an influential critic of the Hollywood scene who was both feared and hated by many actors whose careers she could influence by comments on her radio show and in her newspaper columns. This button was issued for an appearance in "Dixon, Ill." While this is the only example we've seen of this button there is a matching button with the name of Ronald Reagan as he had also lived in this town and was on hand for this event to celebrate the regions most famous daughter on "Louella Parsons Day." Parsons left her Beverly Hills home for a two day train ride to the event which featured a gala dinner, parade through the streets, radio broadcast by her and other Hollywood celebrities who accompanied her including Bob Hope, Jerry Colonna, Joe E. Brown, BB Daniels, Reagan and several others. The event took place Sunday, Sept. 14, 1941. Button has tiny hint of a little darker cream tone on its outer edges than at the very center but remains Exc. and displays essentially Mint. Rare.
