Auction #202 - Part II
Item numbers 1554 through 3213 in auction 202
Item Description
Lot of five 3.5x5" original snapshots featuring the original line-up of this legendary band. From the band's first date of their first US tour which began in York, PA on Sept. 14, 1964. Photos were taken at that concert which was held at the York Fairgrounds. Four are concert shots, two prominently feature bassist Bryan "Chas" Chandler, one of guitarist Hilton Valentine and one of keyboardist Alan Price. Lead singer Eric Burdon can just be seen in the corner of one and this same photo has drummer John Steel but he is directly behind Chas, so partially obscured. The fifth photo is a candid shot of Chas leaning against a vehicle. Great near full figure shot of him looking directly at the camera. As important as Chas was in the formation and success of The Animals, his real claim to fame was as manager and producer of The Jimi Hendrix Experience. All are Exc. and unpublished. From the collection of newspaper editor Harry McLaughlin and comes with Hake’s COA.
