Item Description
J’onn J’onzz, the Martian Manhunter, makes his debut in this issue of Detective. The story provides his origin and as well as placing him immediately in action against some dastardly crooks. It is a wonderful mixture of two separate genres, science fiction and crime. As he appeared more and more often, his powers became more and more defined. This is the first time that DC had introduced a new character made from scratch in a long time. He was created by long-time comic veteran Joe Samachson and the art was handled by Joe Certa. Some historians argue that the Silver Age should actually be dated from this issue. The pages are cream to off-white. The book is CGC-Certified 6.5 (FN+).
