Item Description
10x10" hard bound ©1962 Artia published by Bancroft & Co. London with design by V. Kubasta. Front cover has wonderful scene with Tip and Top stuck in traffic in their homemade car. Book contains six highly ornate and detailed die-cut double page pop-ups. Pop-up pages begin with Tip and Top visiting auto museum and deciding they can build their own car. They proceed to Tip's uncle's garage and build one. After stopping at a service station for refreshments they are off on busy roads and end up on a race track where their car is smashed to pieces. The last pop-up has them riding in a tow truck which carries what's left of their car. Covers have corner scuffs with small tears at top corners of front covers. Some cover dust soil. All pop-ups appear intact. Fine overall. Among the most famous pop-up books of the 20th century. Rare and desirable.
