Item Description
Two items. Sheet music is 10-5/8x13.75" titled "Krazy Kat Rag" copyright 1911 Ben Ritchie Company New York. Six pages with wonderful specialty art by creator George Herriman on the cover showing Krazy Kat getting hit with brick thrown by Ignatz. Covers have some dust soil and lt. handling creases with lt. wear along spine edge. Near Fine appearance. Song folio is 9-1/8x12" with stiff paper covers and 44 inside pages with wonderful specialty art throughout by creator Herriman. Copyright 1922 G. Schirmer Inc. Front cover has nice art of Krazy playing extremely tall mandolin as Ignatz and Offisa Pupp watch. Back cover has art of Krazy getting hit with brick saying "L'il Ainjil" and thinking about Ignatz in heart-shaped balloon. Covers have trace of lt. dust soil with a few minor color rubs. Overall covers Fine/VF. Insides Exc. Sheet music cover has one of the earliest Herriman specialty pieces we've ever seen and "Jazz Pantomime" music folio is one of the nicest Krazy Kat items ever published while the strip was still in circulation. Historic pair.
