Item Description
Pair of leatherette cases are each 3-3/8x6.75x1-1/8" deep with velvet linings and satin inside lid cloth. 1945. Each comes with metal dog tag with recipient/soldier's name George K. Bostian. Silver Star ribbons have some dust soil most likely from wear. Ribbons are Fine, contents Exc. Back of Star marked "For Gallantry In Action". Purple Heart bar/hanging ribbon are VF. Heart is marked on back "For Military Merit". Exc. Comes with splayed-out bullet pair. The Silver Star is the third highest military decoration that can be awarded to a member of any branch of the United States Armed Forces for valor in the face of the enemy. The Purple Heart is a United States military decoration awarded in the name of the president to those who have been wounded or killed while serving with the US military. Each case also includes matching enamel stud.
