Item Description
21" tall to top of hat wearing felt jacket with wood button, felt pants, felt ears and hat with felt feet and cotton socks with starched fabric face. c. 1940s. High quality in the style of dolls by Lars & Lenci. Tiny trace of aging and wire poking through back of shoe but not visible from front. All remains bright and vibrant and felt retains strong color. VF. The Winnie Winkle comic strip ran between 1920 and 1996, evolving from a gag strip into a soap opera. A new character was introduced in the from of Perry, a little boy from the back streets whom the Winkles adopted in 1922. He continued to frequent his old neighborhood gang the Rinkydinks. One member of the Rinkydinks was a dunce named Denny Dimwit who popularized the catch phrase "Youse Is A Good Boy, Denny". First we've seen in our 45 years. Well made.
