Item Description
Olive green sheet metal mechanical voting machine 12x14.5x2" thick with metal easel to prop it up for demonstration purposes. The machine weighs nearly 13 lbs. The upper left has a card listing the seven “Directions For Voting.” The top row has inserts dealing with proposed issues. The center has three card inserts. The top row designates the political office being sought. The center and bottom rows designate the candidates. On this machine the Democrats are listed in the center row, Republicans at bottom. Candidates for president and vice president are Franklin D. Roosevelt/John N. Garner and Alf M. Landon/Frank Knox. Candidates for governor are Lehman and Bleakley. Machine functions by engaging individual levers in a downward position to vote for the desired candidates. A large main lever at the top is pulled to return individual levers to neutral positions. Tanning of the card inserts. Metal shows lt. general aging but only moderate wear is on top of upper frame. Other than neutral tanning of the card inserts, the front of the item displays VF. Working.
