Item Description
7x14.25" shellaced oak wood base 1" thick with 2.5" tall wood riser at rear to which is attached brass plate with photos of FDR and his Postmaster General James Farley flanking scene of rider on horseback with text “80th Anniversary/The Pony Express/1940.” Faintly stamped into front top edge of the wood in small lettering is “Mary B. Ransom-Postmaster-Mattapoisett, Mass.” Tiny luster loss on Farley’s left cheek. Tiny wear on end of one of apparently original 6.5" pens. Minor wear on underside original reddish- brown felt. Overall extremely Fine and a limited issue.
