Item Description
c. 1942. Each glazed ceramic plate is 10.25" and reverse has company name, FDR name and date of birth and excerpt paragraph of text from his December 1941 “Declaration Of War Against The Axis.” Front of each has his large portrait and facsimile signature. There are also seven scenes from 1918 as assistant Secretary of Navy to 1931 when as Governor he urges New York State to aid unemployed to his 1933 inaugural to his meeting August 1941 with Churchill “On The High Seas To Plan A Lasting World Peace.” One plate in brown and one in blue are Mint. One in lighter maroon has 1/16" edge nick and 1" bit toned area around. Fourth in darker maroon with unique rim design is also Mint and has text on back in a larger format than the other three.
