7.75x9.25" with nice image of Caniff smoking pipe at drawing board sketching models with hands bound above their heads representing the Dragon Lady and Pat Ryan. Photo is dated March 10, 1940 on reverse and has typewritten paper caption noting the comic strip is run in 130 papers with 12 million readers with additional caption text "Pat And The Dragon Lady Are Obviously In A Desperate Jam. Here Is How Artist Caniff Is Able To Draw Their Uncomfortable Positions So True To Life." Bottom has text noting models' names are Nendra Harrison and Horace Davis. Photo has a few lt. handling creases just visible in reflected light. Top portion has a bit of faint rippling from applied paper caption on reverse as issued. VF+ appearance. Wonderful image of one of the top comic strip artists in history at work with his models.
