Item Description
First title is 8.75x11.5" hard cover with original dust jacket published by Whitman ©1937 King Features Syndicate Inc. Book features five full color glossy illustrated pages as well as several b/w illustrations throughout including wonderful title page color art of the Jeep with Swee' Pea. Dust jacket and front cover have art of Popeye at table with hamburgers with Wimpy reaching for one. Dust jacket has wear at corners and is Fine. Inside pages are lightly tanned with edges darker tanned. Book has Fine+ appearance overall. Scarce and rarely found with dust jacket. Second title is 8-5/8x11.5" hard cover published by Whitman ©1937 King Features Syndicate Inc. Front cover has art of Popeye holding flowers looking a bit disgruntled as he sees Olive Oyl and other man seated on couch. Back cover shows Popeye laughing with same man with two black eyes and stars above his head. Book has 48 b/w pages with nice art throughout which appears to be done by creator Segar. Book covers are a bit rounded at corners and inside pages are lightly tanned. Overall Fine/VF. Nice art in both.
