Item Description
"The Official Price Guide to Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake shows only a stub of this rare premium pencil containing lead of 4 separate colors. The 7.5” long pencil has metal end cap holding 5.5” long loop of bright yellow cord. Each pencil side pictures character and reads “Big Stoop’s Code-Writer.” In the comic strip, Big Stoop is a 9’ tall Mongol who Connie helped when he was being picked on by bullies. He sticks with Terry and friends out of gratitude. Immensely strong and mute, his nickname comes from “He Stoops To Conquer.” The strip reveals he was once a servant of the Dragon Lady who cut out his tongue when he was young, earning her his hatred. He works with Connie in the Chinese resistance during the war. This “Code-Writer” pencil is unused and lead is in 4 separate colors: red/orange/green/blue. Comes with 4.25x8.25” two-sided instruction sheet which also has a coupon to get additional premium from Libby, sponsor of the radio show. Coupon notes expiration date of June 1, 1942. Horizontal fold through center as mailed. Trivial wrinkles on end flap of mailer, o/w all is Mint. Rare. Only complete example we’ve offered in our 45 years. From the Joe Gura Premium Collection.
