Item Description
Vol. 1 No. 9. 8.5x11" with 22 mimeographed sheets printed on front side only and stapled together at spine. Front cover has art by Nick showing mother duck and ducklings in wooded stream. Cover has price of 10¢ lower right. Issue includes specialty cartoons by animators. Includes Rubin, Seeger, Lampert, Altura, Kaeppel, Oriolo, Abbey, Getz. The Lampert cartoon is by Harry Lampert who would go on to great fame in the comic book field with the Golden Age character The Flash. Oriolo is Joe Oriolo who would go on to greater fame with Felix The Cat. Characters shown in full page cartoons include Pudgy, Popeye about to get hit by Bluto with a club, Betty Boop in fashionable swimsuit at the beach, and Popeye attacking poster of Bluto. Issue includes article on head of the Timing Department and Secretary to Dave Fleischer Nellie Sanborn with small attached glossy photo of her. Green accent front cover is lightly tanned at margin and covers have a few minor creases but issue is otherwise Exc. Extremely limited distribution just for studio employees.
