c.1940. 1" diameter 16 5/8" long cardboard mailer has Ralston Straights Shooters Club Checkerboard Square return address label and contents sticker. Contains 16" long yellow cardboard tube blow gun with “Tom Mix Ralston Straight Shooters” repeat logos in blue and wooden mouthpiece on end for use. Comes with 12.5x15.25" rolled paper target that has Ralston cereal box in center and art image at lower left of Tom riding on Tony and art of Tom at upper left plus art of Sherriff Mike Shaw shown at upper right. Text across bottom promotes Tom Mix radio show. Comes with four balsa wood darts that have no points as made. Instruction text at bottom of target notes darts are designed to blow out tail first. Mailing tube has scattered wear. VG. Blow gun has two tanned areas from cellophane tape removal. Fine. Target has scattered wear with small edge tears here and there. VG. Darts are VF. Includes rarely seen “Checkerboard” premium catalog, an 8.5x10.25" sheet folded in quarters and printed on both sides. This shows 11 Ralston premiums plus lyrics for “Ralston Straight Shooters Theme Song”. Of the 11 premiums, six are generic and five relate specifically to Ralston Straight Shooters including picture and description of the ultra rare “Elephant Hair Good Luck Ring”.
